Irene is passionate about improving the transit experience for road and system users, prioritizing efficiency and public safety while minimizing environmental impact. Clients across the western United States benefit from Irene’s over 30 years of experience in bridge design, structural analysis, and project management, entrusting her with projects that have a critical impact on their communities.
Her recent work with the Washington State Department of Transportation to improve numerous highway interchanges has been gratifying for her and her team, as the enhancements will alleviate traffic and congestion issues, increase roadway safety, and protect high-quality aquatic habitats to restore the natural environment in affected areas. Irene has a proven track record of success in managing major design-build projects and has extensive experience in construction support for large highway and light rail projects.
A staunch advocate for equality in her industry, Irene participates in numerous mentorship programs that empower women to pursue careers and succeed in the transportation and engineering fields. Outside of work, Irene enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures.
