With a background that combines water and transportation engineering with law, Bill works at the intersection of technology, legal process, and business strategy.
Bill’s role was created in concert with the creation of the Innovation Office in 2020. This demonstrated our goal to strategically recognize and protect the valuable contributions of our most inventive people and use them to future-proof our consulting business.
Bill works with our innovators to identify the protectible elements of their ideas and collaborate on how to deploy intellectual property (IP) tools to leverage these ideas when it makes good business sense. Protecting IP is a mutually beneficial way to cultivate and support the careers of our thought-leading employees.
Additionally, Bill recently worked to revive, update, and rebrand Stantec’s Water Treatment: Principles and Design for the digital age.
