Environmentally-responsible public transportation design
When the communities of northern Italy wanted to improve their transportation network and limit carbon emissions, the solution was a new, high-capacity railway that would run between the cities of Milan and Turin. Brought in by the local authority, we worked to validate the project, specifically between the cities of Turin and Novara.
From coordinating technical experts to developing checklists and assessments for the client, we contributed to the geotechnical, hydraulic, and structural processes. Our team completed assessments for the design of safety service roads as well as local and regional roads (that interfered with the site). They also assessed the design of the major and minor hydraulic interfering components and the geotechnical and geological components.
With this new alternative to driving, the northern Italy transportation network is better connected and doing its part to reduce CO2 emissions.
