Engineering a luxury hotel and casino to become a hot destination in Louisiana
Pinnacle Entertainment enlisted Stantec to help develop a $410 million destination hotel and casino overlooking the Mississippi River. For this high profile, multi-phase, fast-paced project, we provided traffic, roadway, structural, survey, site design, and assisted with construction administration, bidding, and the negotiation process. We helped rezone the area, got U.S. Army Corps approvals for the levee-related improvements and basin design for the floating casino, helped create the master site plan, and designed access, site circulation, parking and utility infrastructure.
We also analyzed intersections within 15 miles of the casino and designed improvements for four of them. To make the best use of the site, we moved River Road about 700 feet east of the levee toe by working closely with Pinnacle and Louisiana Department of Transportation officials. We also designed three nearby roundabouts—the first ever constructed in East Baton Rouge Parish along a state route.
