Our preliminary engineering report designs will help reduce flooding risks

San Pedro Avenue is located next to Mark Twain Middle School, in the historic district of San Antonio, Texas. A major thoroughfare, this road is prone to frequent flooding. The multi-phase Bexar County Flood Control project was created to help alleviate the flooding risks. Our team provided engineering, surveying, and technical design services within the Preliminary Engineering Report and prepared the plans, specifications, and estimates for this project.

The report outlined two options: install 2,900 feet (900 metres) of storm sewer trunk line, or 3,100 feet (940 metres) of lateral storm sewer systems using reinforced concrete pipe. Our team recommended one of the options after comparing cost, natural drainage patterns, potential utility conflicts, and potential impacts to the community. Full street, storm sewer, water, and wastewater design and analysis was provided once an option was selected.

To ensure that construction activities met plan specifications, we provided full construction phase services. As well, we coordinated with local utility providers to help maintain service to adjacent developments.

Our work on this project will help reduce this community’s flooding concerns and improve traffic flow into downtown.
