A specialist in the application of statistics and data analysis techniques, Alec’s passion is the development and implementation of scientifically derived decision-making.
The science of statistics, machine learning, optimization, and other analytic techniques is needed to process data and develop models to make strategic and operational decisions. Alec will work in any sector to provide statistical consultancy on operational and long-term decision-making.
Alec’s recent projects have been for the water industry and their infrastructure networks, including analyzing failure data to determine deterioration models and building weather models to filter alarm systems. Alec also works on power and gas networks and environmental and economic data.
Outside of work, Alec enjoys getting to the mountains, from a hill walk in his native Aberdeenshire to a big trip to the Greater Ranges.
