Joe is a hydrogeologist with 35 years of experience including fieldwork in several countries, data analysis and reporting, and groundwater modelling particularly for risk. He has managed small and large projects and programs from short inputs of a few days to multi-year programs with large budgets.
In recent years, Joe has specialized in groundwater risk assessment, working for many of the United Kingdom’s large quarry and landfill operators and for the Environment Agency. He has undertaken assessments of hazardous, non-hazardous, and inert landfills as well as contaminated land sites—both for environmental permitting purposes and to investigate incidents of groundwater contamination.
Joe has most enjoyed his work in developing nations, where provision of new water and sanitation can produce dramatic improvements to people’s lives.
