Francesca Simoni

Francesca is an architect with 15 years’ experience working within the healthcare sector. She first became interested in healthcare design while studying architecture at Florence University. Her key areas of interest are healthcare masterplanning, conceptual design, and clinical planning. 

Francesca joined Stantec’s London office in 2007 and is one of the leaders of our medical planning team, working on high profile and complex healthcare buildings. As clinical designer for The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury – the first 100% single patient room NHS hospital in England – she was part of an advisory group on the Single Patient Room comparative research study. Together with Prof Jill Maben of King’s College London, she presented the research findings at the IHEEM’s annual conference.

Francesca began her career with the Italian architect working on several award winning projects including Meyer Children’s Hospital. Recently, she has had senior roles on the new Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital and a national pediatric hospital and research centre in the Middle East.
