Creating a new, purpose-built campus, the Waterside Campus

We supported our client with their tender for this design and build infrastructure works contract

In an effort to help Northampton University facilities replace derelict buildings (including an old power station), the Waterside Campus project was born. The goal? To bring new employment and education opportunities into the area.

Our team was appointed to carry out the design of the primary infrastructure elements of the project, including addressing highways and private road changes. This included upgrading the main access road to an urban dual carriageway with a signal-controlled junction, creating a main east-west link road within the campus connecting the north-south spine road and creating a central spine road into the campus. We also designed elements for drainage and utilities, including adoptable and private foul and surface water services serving much of the campus as well as the co-ordination for the primary duct, cable and mains routes and chambers within the campus.

Now completed, this project brings an increase in economic growth, employment and improved higher education provision to the area.
